# World of Guildhall
A co-op adventure for a handful of friends, set in WoW Classic's Elwynn Forest
and Westfall. Quest and hunt your way from Northshire to the Deadmines: your
character keeps adventuring while you're away, and dungeons are where you play
together, live.
Prototype. The first slice: levels 1–20, two zones, one dungeon.
## What's in it
- **Classes:** all nine of Classic's, one spec each for now. Tanks: Protection
Warrior, Protection Paladin, Enhancement Shaman. Healers: Restoration Druid,
Holy Priest. Damage: Frost Mage, Combat Rogue, Beast Mastery Hunter (with a
wolf), Affliction Warlock (a Voidwalker alone, an Imp in a group). Each spec
has four signature abilities, learned at levels 1, 3, 6 and 10.
- **Auto or you:** every ability is either on auto (a rule decides: "someone
under 50%", "a mob is casting", "a mob hits someone else") on a 1.5× cooldown,
or in your hands on the real one. Manual abilities only fire when you press
them, and only while you're watching: look away for 12 seconds and they go
back to auto, so nobody idles into a wipe.
- **Combat:** live, in quarter-second steps on the server. Mobs pick targets by
threat (tanks make 1.8× threat, healing makes half), cast telegraphed spells
you can interrupt, and break out of crowd control when hit. Bosses have
phases: Mr. Smite stomps and swaps weapons, VanCleef calls his Blackguards.
Tap a frame to target it; tap a party member to aim your heals.
- **Questing:** 24 quests with Classic's names and chains, from Kobold Camp
Cleanup to The Defias Brotherhood. Kill, loot (quest items only drop while
you're on the quest) and travel objectives; rewards are a choice of gear.
- **Travel:** places are joined by roads that take real minutes. Hunts are
where the mobs are, quest givers stand where they stood in Classic, and the
dungeon door is in Moonbrook.
- **Idle:** start a hunt and leave. You fight, rest and fight again for up to
12 hours, finishing quest objectives as you go. Three deaths in a row and you
stop.
- **Dungeons:** the Deadmines, nine pulls and five bosses, for a group of
2–5 (packs shrink for smaller groups). Everyone meets at the door; the leader
leads you in and can pull early. Bosses give every player their own loot roll
at gear they can use.
- **Gear:** seven slots, cloth/leather/mail by class, Classic-style generated
greens (`Rough Leather Boots of the Monkey`) and named blues from the
Deadmines.
## Running it
```
nix run . -- --dev --port 8100 --db ./wog.sqlite3
```
`--dev` trusts a `wog_user` cookie (a user switcher on the Adventure page) and
adds cheats: set level with matching greens, skip time, teleport.
`tools/balance.py solo|dungeon [runs] [perfect]` simulates solo hunts for every
class and all-auto Deadmines runs.
In production it sits behind Authelia, which passes the signed-in user in
`Remote-User`. The NixOS module is `nixosModules.default` (`services.wog`).
